Paikin's Song

Oh You Must Be Ill

Oh you must be ill
Such a sudden change
From your good path
To one so daft
This really isn't no normal doings

It would make it simple
I do suppose
If sick I was
But I assure you
I am anything but sick
And am in fact
Feeling better than
I have a right to feel

Is it drugs you took
Say not no
You ever said
You'd sooner be dead
Than to take to drugs
Of that illicit kind

Nothing's changed in that regard
I've not taken any drugs
So neither sick or unduly influenced
Am I myself
Which only leaves the truth
I saw a need for change
And this is the first of my necessary steps

And Lisa but looked at him
Mouth agape
Knowing nothing more
There was for her to say
His mind was up and made

Charles Petrie

I'll be here tomorrow, will you?

Oh, Saturday. That's fine, there will just be more for you to enjoy.
