Paikin's Song

Naked's Last

But why must it be
This sad way
When we are so close
And happily enjoy together

Aye that was truth enough
These past few years
But changes are afoot
And they call for me
To do this done

So you mustn't love me now
And likely never have
Or else you'd take me with
Wherever you intend to go

Au contraire
You are my chere
And I love you yes
And ever will
Which is so why
I must leave you behind

Oh such bull you speak
You think me stupid weak
You've but distant been
Since that lady strange
Did bawl you out
Late Sunday past

It's isn't what you think
There is no she and I
But yes she is the one
Who made me aware
Of why I must leave
And never not again
Lie with you

Yet some bleak how
She'll say to lie with her
And having need of that
You'll happily oblige her so

In truth she said
That never no more at all
As naked thus
Must be my past

Then go be away
You wrecked my day
Not so much for leaving now
Though that is harsh
More so because
You left like a louse
And lied to me
About the why of it

I knew it'd be hard
And anger would you have
But this is for the best of you
And I love you enough
To bear this pain
On my shoulders alone

Charles Petrie

Yes, this is yet another story poem, but one I will not slip into Tuesday 42, for there are already 35 poetry stories on the go there and that is far too many. But damn, this is a start deserving of Tuesday 42 attention.

Curse my lack of poetry story discipline in the first twelve issues.

Oh well, there are always other poetry vehicles I can build.

Next when.
